Distribution abroad: Indo-West Pacific: East Africa, Seychelles and Mascarenes (La Réunion, Mauritius, Rodrigues) east to Marshall Islands and Society Islands (French Polynesia), north to Kagoshima Prefecture (southern Japan), south to Lord Howe Island (Australia) and New Caledonia.
